Worldwide Rosary Marathon for the End of COVID-19

rosary01 350The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has asked for a worldwide relay of Rosaries everyday during the month of May for an end to the pandemic. Drawing on Acts 12:5, “Prayer by the Church was fervently being made to God” (this verse refers to the unceasing prayer the whole Church made for the release of Peter from prison), the Holy Father is asking everyone around the world to pray unceasingly during the month of Mary for an end to COVID.

Pope Francis has asked a different Marian Shrine to host the prayers each day from May 1st to 31st.

St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney was selected to host the prayers on Sunday, 16 May at 6pm AEST.

Each day prayers are offered for the end of the pandemic, as well as for a specific intention as listed in the pdf attached file (256 KB) .

Day 1 (May 1 in Europe, May 2 in Australia) can be watched live at 2am AEST (6pm Rome time) as well as a livestream from Walsingham, England.

Shalom World will also be livestreaming the Rosary Marathon from the different Shrines each day at swprayer.org
