popefrancis olfatima 150Dear Spiritual Directors and Legionaries,

Please join us in making a Novena to Our Lady of Fatima to pray for the people of our country to turn back to the worship and adoration of Almighty God, and for our Churches to be open for public worship without any restrictions.

Let us place all our trust in the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Dear Faithful and faithfilled Legionaries

May we all come together to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima to thank her for her daily blessings as we pray together the Glorious Mysteries of her Holy Rosary.

Novena Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima

© Mazur/catholicnews.org.ukMost Holy Virgin, who has deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three little shepherds the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary, inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion, so that by meditating on the mysteries of our redemption that are recalled in it, we may gather the fruits and obtain the conversion of sinners, the conversion of Russia, and this favour that we so earnestly seek…

May we always remember this day and thank God for the acquittal of His Eminence, Cardinal George Pell by the High Court of Australia. May Our Blessed Mother continue to protect Cardinal Pell in the days ahead.

As we progress into this Holy Week of Easter, we face great challenges as Catholics because of the Coronavirus and government restrictions on gatherings.

Dear Spiritual Directors and Legionaries

As the Coronavirus restrictions tighten and we are strongly encouraged to stay at home, let us use this Lenten silence to strengthen our relationship with God and increase our spiritual works of mercy.

Legion of Mary Retreat at Mercy College, Coburg

1. (Legionaries) Must "put on the whole armour of God". (Eph 6:11)
The Roman Legion, from which the Legion takes its name, has come down through the centuries illustrious for loyalty, courage, discipline, endurance, and success, and this for ends that were often base and never more than worldly. Manifestly, Mary's Legion cannot offer to her…qualities less notable, so that in these qualities is indicated the very minimum of legionary service. St. Clement, who was converted by St. Peter and was a fellow-worker of St. Paul, proposes the Roman army as a model to be imitated by the Church.

teresaliu 150A woman who spent 20 years imprisoned in China for being a faithful Catholic has helped hundreds of Chinese migrants convert to the faith in Australia. Teresa Liu, now 86 and living in Sydney, was imprisoned in Guangzhou from 1957 to 1977 by the Chinese communist government. She was never given a trial and spent some of her sentence in solitary confinement — at one point for a period of seven months. Denied access to the sacraments and the Bible throughout her incarceration, Liu kept her faith alive by praying secretly in her cell. Liu’s crime was being a member of a Catholic lay organization, the Legion of Mary, which was considered an “anti-revolutionary” group by the Chinese leaders.
