Pilgrimage Prayers

Senatus Jubilee Pilgrimage Prayers June to July 2025 Page 1

Dear legionaries and Spiritual Directors,

As many of you are aware, the Senatus Jubilee Pilgrimage to France, Ireland and Italy is taking place from 2nd June until 4th July this year, for a total of 33 days. Whilst a small number of legionaries have signed up I'm aware that many more legionaries found the itinerary attractive and very much wanted to participate.

The pilgrims have been preparing themselves spiritually by praying daily the designated prayers of each day in the attached file and will continue doing so until their return in July.

Of your charity I would like to request all legionaries under the umbrella of the Senatus in Australia and in the Islands to also pray these prayers daily from today until all the pilgrims return in July.

We legionaries are united to each other not only through our Baptism and the Sacrament of the Eucharist but also in our daily recitation of the Catena which binds us together spiritually. We will be praying for all legionaries, active and auxiliary, senior and junior, at all the holy places we visit. As Senatus President I will be carrying all of you spiritually with me, praying for your intentions, praying for our growth in holiness and in apostleship, and praying for us to permit God to mould us into the saints He longs for us to become.

I'm asking Presidents and other officers to please make copies of the attached flyer and distribute them to the legionaries in your councils and praesidia. I would like every legionary to have a copy of these prayers, and through our union in Christ to feel as if he/she will also be taking part in this pilgrimage.

In union of prayers through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,

Sr Caroline Fernandez

Mondays

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and of the Son, let the might of Thy love be felt, more and more, in the hearts of men. Let Thy light shine on the souls of men who are wandering in darkness far away from God. Turn them to the life-giving Heart of Jesus and to the healing stream of His Most Precious Blood. Strengthen souls who love Thee, perfect in them Thy seven gifts and Thy twelve fruits. Make them Thy temples here, that Thou mayest be adored by them forever. Amen.

Tuesdays

Prayer to St Anthony

St Anthony, model of great holiness, help me to live as a true Christian, faithful to the promises of my Baptism. You know how great the dangers and difficulties of my life are, grant that I may overcome all temptations to evil and have the courage to bear witness to my faith. Grant me a heart that is capable of loving God above all things, and ready to accept His Holy Will in sacrifice and renunciation. Open my soul so that I may love my neighbours selflessly and sincerely. Let me be ready to serve and console all those in need. Sustain me through your example so that I may be worthy of God’s friendship. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Wednesdays

TO THEE, O BLESSED JOSEPH (AD TE, BEATE IOSEPH)

To thee, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and having implored the help of thy most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke thy patronage also. Through that charity which bound thee to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which thou didst embrace the Child Jesus, we humbly beg thee to graciously regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by His Blood, and with thy power and strength to aid us in our necessities.

O most watchful Guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be propitious to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness; and, as once thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by thy constant protection, so that, supported by thy example and thy aid, we may be able to live piously, to die holy, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.

Thursdays

St Faustina’s prayer for Priests and the Holy Church

O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord. Lord, give us holy priests; You Yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things.

(From Divine Mercy In My Soul - The Diary of Maria Faustina Kowalska. No 1052)

Jesus, my most Beloved, I beg You for the triumph of the Church; for blessings on the Holy Father … and on all the clergy; for the grace of conversion of impenitent sinners. And I ask You for a special blessing and for light, O Jesus, for the priests before whom I will make my confessions throughout my lifetime. (From Divine Mercy In My Soul - The Diary of Faustina Kowalska. No 240)  Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Fridays

Novena to the Sacred Heart

Divine Jesus, Who said, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you,” behold me prostrate at Thy feet, animated with a lively faith and confidence in these promises dictated by Thy Sacred Heart and pronounced by Thy adorable lips. I come to ask a favour. (Here mention the request.) To whom can I address myself if not to Thee, whose Heart is the inexhaustible source of all graces and merits? Where should I seek, if not in the treasury which contains all the riches of Thy clemency and bounty? Where must I knock, if it be not at the door through which God communicates Himself to us and through which we go to God?

To Thee, then, O Heart of Jesus, I have recourse. In Thee I find consolation when afflicted, protection when persecuted, strength when overwhelmed with trials, light in doubt and darkness. I firmly believe Thou canst bestow on me the graces I implore, even though it should require a miracle. Thou hast only to will it and my prayer is granted.

I own I am most unworthy of Thy favours, O Jesus, but this is no reason for me to be discouraged. Thou art the God of mercies and Thou will not refuse a contrite and humble heart. Cast on me a look of pity, I beseech Thee, and Thy compassionate Heart will find in my misery and weakness a pressing motive for granting my request.

O Sacred Heart, whatever may be Thy decision with regard to my request, I will never cease to adore, love, praise and serve Thee. Deign, my Jesus, to accept this, my act of perfect submission to the decree of Thy Adorable Heart, which I sincerely desire may be fulfilled in and by me, and all Thy creatures, for ever and ever. Amen. (from The Precious Blood and Mother) Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Saturdays

Prayer to the Queen of the Holy Rosary of Pompei

O Blessed Rosary of Mary, sweet chain which unites us to God, bond of love which unites us to the angels, tower of salvation against the assaults of Hell, safe port in our universal shipwreck, we will never abandon you. You will be our comfort in the hour of death: yours our final kiss as life ebbs away.

And the last word from our lips will be your sweet name, O Queen of the Rosary of Pompei, O dearest Mother, O Refuge of Sinners, O Sovereign Consoler of the Afflicted. May you be everywhere blessed, today and always, on earth and in heaven.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Sundays

Prayer to the Father

Most Holy Father, may Your Will be done, that we may love You with all our soul and never cease to yearn for You. May we love our neighbour as ourselves, striving to bring all people to Your love. May we rejoice in the good of others as in our own, and share with them in all their sufferings. Amen. (St Francis of Assisi).
